The goji plant

The goji plant is a solanaceous plant of the genus boxthorn. It is used as an ornamental plant and is part of Chinese cuisine and traditional Chinese medicine.
The goji plant is a deciduous shrub that can be two to four meter high. His virgate, usually prickly branches hang down like bow and wear elongated, lanceolate long gray-green leaves. The heyday of our goji plants in Andalusia is from April to June and sometimes July.
Pollination is by insects (bees) or self-pollination. Our bright orange-red goji berries ripen from June through September and sometimes into October. The harvest is handpicked.
